// Rail first

Technology for the rail environment.

From automatic identification to complete vehicle visibility, Sentinel focuses on practical technology that helps rail operators, asset owners, engineering teams and integrators make better decisions around moving assets.

// 360° vision / locomotive example

See the vehicle from the operator's perspective.

A practical six-position configuration can provide a clearer perimeter view around a long locomotive. Final camera placement is confirmed against vehicle geometry, operating conditions and required fields of view.

// Questions

Useful answers before you enquire.

What does Sentinel supply for rail?

Sentinel's rail portfolio centres on Sentinel 360° vehicle visibility for locomotives and rolling stock, supported by TransCore® MPRX RFID identification.

What is the difference between the MPRX onboard and wayside readers?

The Single Port MPRX is intended for onboard applications with one antenna port. The Four Port MPRX is intended for wayside applications with up to four multiplexed antenna connections. See the dedicated product pages for the detailed specification set.

Can Sentinel assess an existing locomotive for 360° vision?

Yes. Final camera placement is assessed against the vehicle geometry, operator position, operating environment and required fields of view before a configuration is finalised.

Does Sentinel support industries outside rail?

Yes. Rail remains the primary focus, while the 360° visibility platform can also be configured for selected mining, construction, transport and heavy mobile plant applications.
